The Origin of Cookies

Cookies were discovered in the 7th century AD in Persia, (Now is Iran) right after sugar started to become common. The idea of cookies started spreading to Europe in the 14th century. And in the 17th century, cookies arrived in America with the early settlers. And in 1796, the first known American cookie recipe was published in American Cookery, by Amelia Simmons. And in the 1930s the orginal chocolate chip cookie was invented by Ruth Graves Walkfield in Massachusetts. So cookies have been around since your great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandma.
